Stanmar was spurred on by our extensive experience in building community, most notably through developing Smuggler’s Notch Ski Resort in Vermont and the Mattakesett home community on Martha’s Vineyard, but Stanmar’s success with this project was met with challenges.

This was proven when the real estate market collapsed in the late 1980s. Construction was unfinished and the future was uncertain. Ultimately, quality and our design enabled us to complete the development and sell each unit within two years. By never compromising on quality, designing from the inside out to create spaces that feel “right” to those who use them, and not being afraid to have some fun, buildings can be created with lasting value that evolve successfully into the future. Stanmar brings this ethos to every project and to all clients.
